Community Engagement-SCC

Overview
Aloha!  This page provides information to stakeholders about Moanalua Elementaryʻs finances and operations for School Year 2020-2021 via our Academic Plan and Comprehensive Financial Plan.  Our School Community Council (SCC), made up of principals, teachers, staff, students, parents, and volunteer community members, helps to craft and approve these plans for the following school year.  An election is held annually to set membership on the SCC.  If youʻre interested in joining our SCC, please contact our principal, Mrs. Lynda Galera.  Learn more about School Community Councils on the Hawaii DOE website:

Parent Input Form

Moanalua Elementary School Community Council (SCC) would appreciate your input and feedback! The SCC's purpose is "to provide a mechanism whereby parents, the community, and other key stakeholders can have a substantially increased voice in the affairs of [our] school" (SCC Handbook, 2020, p.3).

Your input will be shared at SCC meetings and will be considered as the three common sense-principles of the SCC:
1) Making significant decisions affecting the instructional program of the school.
2) Developing a school plan to improve student academic achievement.
3) Engaging/increasing family participation and decision-making to help their children and school to become more successful.

Access the Parent Input Form at this link.

School Community Council Meetings
