Thank you for the books!

B5's families are amazing!
There has been an many book donations in the past few weeks.
The variety of books has caught the interest of all the students and the different levels of reading support the many different types of readers in our classroom.

Thank you very much for your book donations.
Our students love these new stories to enjoy!

Wish List Thank You #4 and 5

Thank you to two of B5's families for fullfilling more wishlist items.
We received a pack of legos, 2 specialty packs of legos, and a total of 4 books!
The student's can't wait to practice carrying over with the lego tools and reading the books in our classroom library.

Math Brain Challenge
B5 children were challenged to an interesting worksheet.
We discussed the answers in class using our tools to help us.

Some AHA moments were shared:
-"When I draw it I can see what it says"
-"If I don't have the math things at home I can draw it to help me"
-"When it makes a new number I can circle it"

Wish List Thank You #3

B5 was gifted another box of legos by a supportive family!
Each wish fulfilled excites our students and gives them the tools to explore new subjects.

Today, students explored different structures with the legos noticing the properties of different pieces, great practice for science!

Thank you very much families!

Math Tool!

Today B5 friends updated their abacus.

Now every child has an abacus with a hundreds row, a tens row, and a ones row.

Each child was given the option of bringing home their tool to complete their worksheets.

The abacus is a classroom tool that they will be able to bring home to practice math concepts.  Let's make sure these make it too and from the classroom!

 Wish List Thank You

Thank you to another B5 family for donating a box of legos.
The tools on our Amazon Wishlist help your children get excited to learn so many new concepts.  These lego bricks will help us solve the challenging math worksheet we recently attempted for HW.

Wish List Thank You!

Thank you so much for our supportive B5 families.  We have already received a donation from our B5 Amazon Wishlist. The students received a new book for the classroom library, dry erase markers to share our thinking during different subject explorations, and a magnetic file holder to hold clipboards in an accessible area.

If you would like to donate to our classroom, we are hoping to add special single unit legos to our class to help us learn our many math skills for the year.

B5 friends postponed our math assessment today in order to practice our strategies of adding/subtracting 10s and 1s.  Students loved using the big abacus as a tool when completing math workbook pages.  Today, every student made a mini abacus tool for math time.

-"I count this row by 10s and count on this other row by ones"
-"I labeled the different rows to remember"
-"It's easy to see the 5s in each row because the beads are different colors"

Student Log-ins

 Hello Families,
Your child will be using many online sites to support their learning this year.
Your child's log in information has been added to the inside cover of their planners. This way, your child's log in information will be with them where ever they go!  Your child has log in access to all sites on our "links" page.  Over the next few weeks, I will be teaching B5 friends how to log in and use certain sites.  Not all sites will be used right away.

The sites your child and you may explore together are:
Wonders, Frontrow, Typing

You will be notified when other sites become available.

Thank you very much B5 Families!
