GT Nominations

^{Dear Parents/Guardians,}

^{Moanalua Elementary School’s Gifted and Talented Program is now accepting nominations for School Year 2024-2025. Students who are incoming 4th-6th graders are eligible. If you feel your child/student/self demonstrates exceptional ability and exhibits higher level critical thinking, creativity, and conceptualization, please complete and submit the form below. The screening will be conducted July 15th-19th. We will contact you with more information.}

^{The Gifted and Talented Program at Moanalua Elementary provides an environment where students can engage in independent studies that demonstrate their creative problem solving, critical thinking, and inquiry skills. This program will be conducted after school on Mondays and Fridays from 2:15 P.M.- 3:30 P.M.}

^{The Gifted and Talented identification process consists of three steps:}

^{1. Nomination: Download the forms below to nominate and complete Parent Home Rating Survey OR fill out the online form. LINK HERE: Nomination & Home Rating Scale}

^{2. Screening of nominated students, during which time all pertinent information is gathered and prepared for committee review. Our school uses the following testing measures:}

COGAT (Cognitive Abilities Test)
Metropolitan Achievement (Reading comprehension)
Otis-Lennon Mental Abilities Test
Torrance test for Creativity
Stanford Writing Assessment
SIGS (Teacher and Parent evaluation)

^{3. Notification of screening results: End of August}
